Reaves & Lee, PLLC is a North Texas law firm representing individuals and families in bankruptcy and personal injury matters. The firm is led by attorneys Jon Reaves and Christopher Lee, whose professional relationship began years before they became law partners.
Reaves & Lee combines Christopher Lee’s decades of bankruptcy experience with Jon Reaves’s background in personal injury litigation and law-firm operations. The result is a firm built to help people through two very different—but often life-changing—problems: serious financial hardship and serious injury.
Our History
Jon Reaves and Christopher Lee’s history together predates Reaves & Lee.
Before becoming an attorney, Jon worked with Christopher in the operation of Christopher’s bankruptcy practice. That experience gave Jon an early introduction to the legal profession and to the effect a law firm can have on people facing difficult circumstances. It ultimately helped inspire Jon to pursue a legal career of his own.
Christopher had already devoted much of his career to consumer bankruptcy. In 2007, he played a key role in the development of Allmand & Lee, which grew into one of the largest consumer bankruptcy practices in Texas. He later established Lee Law Firm, where he continued representing individuals and families in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases throughout North Texas.
Jon subsequently became an attorney and developed his practice in personal injury litigation, representing people injured through the negligence of others. After following separate professional paths, Jon and Christopher reunited—this time as law partners—to form Reaves & Lee, PLLC.
That history still shapes the firm today. Reaves & Lee is not built around a high-volume model in which clients are passed from one department to another with little attorney involvement. We believe clients deserve access to experienced lawyers who understand their case, explain their options, and develop a strategy based on their individual circumstances.
Bankruptcy
Reaves & Lee’s bankruptcy practice carries forward the work Christopher began long before the formation of the current firm.
Having grown up on a small farm in Indiana, Christopher saw firsthand the impact financial hardship can have on a family. That experience influenced the way he has approached bankruptcy representation throughout his career: financial problems are personal, and the right solution depends on much more than numbers on a bankruptcy petition.
Today, Reaves & Lee represents individuals, families, and business owners facing financial problems throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Our attorneys advise clients concerning Chapter 7 bankruptcy, Chapter 13 bankruptcy, business bankruptcy, foreclosure, repossession, creditor lawsuits, tax debt, and other debt-related issues.
Bankruptcy is not simply a matter of completing forms. A filing can affect a client’s home, vehicles, business interests, taxes, property, and long-term financial plans. We help clients understand those consequences and determine whether bankruptcy—and which type of bankruptcy—is the right solution for them.
Personal Injury
Reaves & Lee also represents people who have suffered serious injuries because of the negligence or wrongful conduct of others.
Led by Jon Reaves, our personal injury practice handles matters involving automobile collisions, commercial vehicles, dangerous property conditions, motorcycle crashes, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, and other negligence claims.
Insurance companies begin evaluating claims immediately after an accident. We believe injured people deserve lawyers who are willing to do the same—investigate what happened, preserve evidence, understand the medical issues, identify all responsible parties, and build the case necessary to obtain a fair result.
We pursue settlement when settlement makes sense. When an insurance company will not fairly evaluate a claim, however, we are prepared to file suit and litigate the case.
Hammerhead Motorcycle Law
Motorcycle law is more than a practice area for Reaves & Lee. Jon Reaves and Christopher Lee are both avid motorcycle riders, and their experience as riders gives them a personal understanding of the motorcycle community and the issues riders face on Texas roads.
That shared interest is why Reaves & Lee created Hammerhead Motorcycle Law, the firm’s motorcycle-focused personal injury division.
Motorcycle crashes present issues that often differ from ordinary automobile collisions. Riders are more exposed to serious injury, and they are sometimes blamed simply because they were on a motorcycle. Assumptions about speed, risk-taking, or rider behavior can begin influencing a claim before the evidence has even been examined.
As riders ourselves, we understand the difference between the realities of riding and the stereotypes that motorcyclists sometimes face. We work to make sure motorcycle injury cases are evaluated based on the evidence and what actually happened—not assumptions about the person who was riding.
Through HammerheadMotorcycleLaw.com, Reaves & Lee provides information specifically for Texas riders and represents motorcyclists who have been seriously injured because of another person’s negligence.
A Different Kind of Law Firm
Reaves & Lee combines substantial legal experience with the accessibility of a smaller, attorney-led firm.
Our clients are not simply file numbers. Whether someone comes to us because creditors are threatening their home, because they need a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy, or because an unexpected injury has changed their life, we want them to understand both what we are doing and why we are doing it.
Jon Reaves and Christopher Lee formed Reaves & Lee around a simple principle: people facing serious legal problems deserve experienced representation without getting lost inside a large law-firm bureaucracy.
We represent clients throughout Dallas-Fort Worth and surrounding North Texas communities in bankruptcy and personal injury matters.
